Some Velvet Evening - Monday 29 October

On Monday 29 October, we will be joining our friends, the wonderful 'The Tamborines' on stage to perform songs by the late Lee Hazelwood as part of Sonic Cathedral's 'Some Velvet Evening'.

Further details from the good people at Sonic Cathedral:-

SONIC CATHEDRAL PRESENTS…SOME VELVET EVENINGA TRIBUTE TO LEE HAZLEWOOD

Sonic Cathedral presents a one-off tribute to one of our favourite artists – the late songwriter, producer and all-round musical maverick Lee Hazlewood, who died in August after a long battle with cancer. The evening will also feature other live performances of Lee Hazlewood songs from a host of bands and artists, including Dot Allison and the Strange Idols. Some very special guests who will be revealed on the night.

There will also be a selection of films showing, including the rarely seen ‘Cowboy In Sweden’ and an intimate and poignant video of Lee’s 78th birthday party, recorded just three weeks before his death, in addition to premiering his last ever recording, a heartbreakingly beautiful collaboration with Icelandic quartet and Sigur Rós collaborators Amiina.

Entry is free, but we will be selling Lee Hazlewood souvenir moustaches and badges and passing a hat around to raise money for the Globe, Arizona branch of the Salvation Army, Lee’s chosen charity, so please give generously.

Hello friends,

The Left Outsides monthly music night 'The Third Light Club' continues.....

SATURDAY 26 MAY
The Gladstone (2 minutes walk from Borough tube)

This month, support comes from a brand new band featuring Mark and Alison from the Left Outsides with Ben Phillipson and Karl Sabino, formally of 'The Eighteenth Day of May' along with Amanda Gomez formally of 'Saloon'. The band is so brand new in fact, that they don't even have a name. But they have plenty of songs.

(some of you may have seen that The Left Outsides are advertised as playing at the Brixton Windmill on 26th - this is incorrect, the show is at the Gladstone).

If you've not been to the Third Light Club before, here's what you've missed....
