Greetings dear friends, and Happy New Year!

The Trimdon Grange Explosion is our 'other band' with our good friends (and 'Outside Left's') Ben Phillipson and Karl Sabino. The name is taken from a mining disaster which occurred at the Trimdon Grange colliery in the North East of England in 1882. 72 men and boys lost their lives as the mines collapsed due to a natural gas explosion. A song was written by Tommy Armstrong, a local man known as ‘the pit poet’ as a fund raiser for the grieving families of the dead. The song was recorded by Louis Killen on topic records in the 1960s.
